For the past three years, I have had the honor of representing the Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on the Bridging the Nutritional Divide Council established to reduce childhood hunger, promote the state agriculture industry, and to enhance or expand statewide community nutrition programs. Yesterday our Chair, First Lady of Virginia Dorothy McAuliffe, unveiled our final product; The Virginia Food Access Network. This website seeks to provide data, resources and toolkits to stakeholders across the state in an effort to decrease hunger and improve nutritional health.
